Frankly speaking, I've never been a very big fan of Valentine's Day. I mean other than the random chocolates that you sometimes receive from some unknown person 'cos it was left under your table, nothing much about it. Unless you do have a other half and you're planning something special for her on Vday ....... But that's not much of creativity 'cos every other guy is planning something special for his girl on Vday. Hmm.
However, just yesterday, I was talking to Fruit about Vday and we chatted on the topic of roses. I told him I particularly liked blue roses beacause 1. There isn't actually natural blue roses - blue roses are always hand dyed. 2. I think they're much prettier than red roses, although I like red.
Thus I went onto the net and searched for pictures of blue roses for him 'cos he couldn't seem to imagine them. Meanwhile pictures of rainbow coloured roses appeared too. And whilst I was searching..... I was wondering if I could make my own rose!
DIY roses were never easy. Especially if you would like the petals of the rose to be really refined you'll have to twist twist twist the paper, fold it unfold it etc which I really couldn't achieve 'cos I didn't have the patience!
But then, I found this video on Youtube that teaches you how a make a rose, which could be folded back into a cube!

The vid's really cool! Especially when there's no twisting and turning of paper - everything's just symmetrical folding.... (y) for noobz like me! :D

Rose is made up of parts like this combined together, into a cube ^^.

Opening the leaves....

Rose blooming.....

Volia!
I tested out with pink paper, so here's a blue rose for myself! :D

So pretty! And simple to do too! I'm starting on yellow and orange roses now! YAY I'll have a Vday filled with roses this year! ♥♥♥
(Y) for guys who's got no money for real roses! If it's me I'll be super touched if I actually received something like that. Handmade leh! How many guys will have the patience to handmade roses? Especially ones that can be folded back into a cube. Not seen everyday okay! Origami isn't that simple - even I get frustrated when I get the folds wrong O:
And so, to end off....
Wishing all everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! Guys, please impress your girl! :D
P.S/ I found out that the meaning behind blue roses is actually something along the line of "Not easy to attain". O.O
