Braces... No more!

I am all smiles today!!!

Believe that you guys should already know why - I finally got my braces off! (Look closely at the above picture if you missed it!)

After a gruelling 5 years of having metal on and around my teeth... They're finally finally finally gone and now my mouth feels empty. Not missing them anyway!

I'm not a big fan of taking close-up shots of my face so I don't exactly have a proper picture of myself in braces, especially in the earlier years (coz I was suffering from some kind of inferiority complex of having buck teeth) so I didn't keep any of those pictures taken. I took one a few days before the due date of my removal for memory's sake so it doesn't really show the progress of my teeth but rather just the difference of with and without braces.

I had to smile reeeeaaaaalllllly widely for this shot coz my teeth are naturally small and I don't show much teeth when I smile. Look you can't even see the outlines of my two front teeth with the metal covering it.

Here are a few shots of my teeth close-up, with and without braces. (The with braces shots are not in high resolution coz I took it with my phone's front camera)

(As you can see my teeth are really small)

I feel better about my appearance now that I have my braces removed! In fact now I still shudder at the frightful times when I had buck teeth... How did I even manage to live through my life with protruding front teeth?!?!

Thank god I did braces - Even though I had it for five long years I'm extremely pleased that it produced satisfactory results of perfect straight teeth. For those who are considering braces... I strongly encourage it!!!! Your braces journey can't get any more torturous than mine - Speaking of which it's a long story.....

To cut it short, the alignment and number of my teeth weren't even 'normal' to begin with - I had lesser teeth in my bottom row and extra teeth in the top row. I had to undergo a day surgery to remove all the teeth, four of them in fact, which were embedded in my gum (those were adult teeth which refused to grow out, resulting in my lack of teeth in the bottom row). Then I religiously visited the dentist every month for five years straight.

So can you imagine my exuberance now that I got them off!!!

In comparison with my face. I love how I look without braces!!!

There, the entry was indeed a mouthful, no? :)
