Popped by the GUESS Watch Event organised by Nuffnang over the weekend and suffered from major inferiority complexes again and again and again. I mean, what do you, as a fellow female feel when you see girls
this gorgeous, (Beatrice Tan omg i absolutely adore her and her amazing sunshine smile)
this bubbly, (Qiu Qiu, as we all should know by now)
and this adorable? (Rachell Tan, loving her new bob)
For the entire time I can't but keep gasping at how beautiful these ladies were. I mean, reading their blogs and scrolling through their Instagram rolls is definitely not the same as meeting them in real life. No amount of self-obsession that I have could actually match up with "I wish I was as pretty as them" so I guess my best bet and only hope now would be that as I get to their age I'd get half their prettiness (yes that is satisfactory for me) and at least feel better about myself. Maybe the very least I could do for myself is to get skinny real soon (this is like a failed mantra-for-self which appears in almost every entry of mine) but ugh is about the only word that comes to my mind each time I whine about not being skinny (ugh) because what I really wanna do is to indulge in guilty pleasures and not feel to have sinned. Ever.
Maybe the only thing I didn't feel so inferior about would be the fact that I have longer hair than all of them. *cue awkward silence*
Sometimes I wonder who am I actually kidding.
Back to the event - It was a pretty cool one, with a number of pieces in rose gold and gold! My favourite colours for metal watches. Honestly a watch event is definitely not a place for me to hang around because of this major watch fetish that I've developed recently - I can now never leave home without a watch. You can never have too many watches. And watches are really, really, really fashionable accessories. And they have a style for every occasion. And they make any outfit look high-end. And they keep you organised. It's like you can't have too many pairs of shoes; they say good shoes get you to good places, I say hell yeah they do - Pretty shoes get you compliments, which really isn't too far off either, so we all need both good AND pretty shoes.
Nonetheless I had a great time checking out the various watches of the new collection from GUESS - my favourite would the the Jet Setter (really love the denim and rose gold combination) but nuh uh can't buy anymore coz I already have two new watches, ordered online, coming my way. But who says only material take-aways count because.........
I got to snap a shot with three stunning ladies!!!!!! Beat that!
Also considering the fact that I'm one of the first fifty lucky chaps to RSVP for the event (talk about upholding the Singaporean spirit of kiasu-ism I believe I definitely nailed it), I managed to walk away with a limited edition GUESS denim tote bag!
Now don't start judging because to salvage whatever lost reputation that I once had I seek solace in the two words which change the entire scenario: Limited Edition. That makes everything seem more worthwhile, right? :)
Before I end off if any of you guys are interested in GUESS' new collection of watches, you would be please to know that the event is held at Vivo City till 20 October 2013 and promotions will last till 27 October 2013!
