This is it!

The greatest Saxophone Section!!!

I'm typing this entry out with really mixed feelings. Really really mixed feelings, like an iceblended shake or something. (Doing this now 'cos I will have no time for the next few days till Tuesday after SYF?)

(I'm actually stunned for words now. Figuring how to continue on from here.)

Humans are like this. When we have it, we take it for granted. When it's taken away from us, then we start to appreciate it.

(I shall tell you about my band life. How it rocks and sucks at the same time.)

I joined band in sec1 'cos I thought that the parade march-in into the hall was really cool. My heart was immediately sold and I didn't really take notice of any other CCAs anymore. Of course, I went through the auditions and stuff and finally (and obviously) I got into band. Trust me, I didn't know that Swiss Winds was actually the NCC Command Band of SG. I purely thought that they march-in was cool.

I got to know Yitian and Yensheng. Kinda scares me now that I've actually known them for 4 years omg and have gone through so many other hardships in band with them. Heehee. I remember the seniors used to punish Yt & Ys like mad. BUT I WAS ALWAYS EXCUSED, 'COS I'M A GIRL!!!!!!!! ^^

During sec 2, I was transferred over to tenor sax. Got to know Zhengyong and Howard better. I remember Zy took me on a one-on-one sectional practice just to let me get used to tenor's part of Blue Shades. He actually took me note-by-note leh! Now that I think of it I feel that he's got more patience than me x.x

By the end of sec2, Yanting's batch stepped down and someone leaked out to me that I was chosen for Asst. Secretary post. Didn't believe it at first. But later @ Sec3 AGM they announced the post then I got convinced. Heh.

Started Sec3 and I got tired of band. I was already stressed up with the new subjects that I will be taking, and band was really tiring, as usual. Juggling between band and studies was not easy k! The band at that point of time sucked. Really sucky. The sound that we produced would get constant scolding from Mr Chew. I would have thoughts of skipping band pracs, but since I'm already in the BLG, no choice, I would have to psyco myself that that particular practice was going to be fun so as to get myself to go.

Soon, Zy's batch stepped down too. I was really sad. Jazz Ensemble had just started, the band was finally picking themselves up, and now the support of the band was going to disappear?!!!!!!! How to not sad! But then, Zy told us: "When we pass out, the section confirm die one." With that usual smirk on his face. Frankly speaking, this was the drive to get us going so as to prove them wrong. That was why (my section) pushed like mad so as to keep up the standard. Our efforts were obviously noticed, 'cos for that period of time when the seniors stepped down, Mr Chew kept praising us. Heh. But now the whole band sounds wonderful lah.

Now, I'm already in sec4. Last time, when I just joined band, the majors used to tell my batch that we're really important. 'Cos we're the SYF batch 2011. I didn't really take notice of it at that point of time, but now............. I'm getting nervous. Realised how important we are.

And then, I'm wondering. What happens after SYF? We step down, I'd miss my juniors like mad, and then? Then we start all over again. When my Yewy and Arubyel and Jimmy become sec4, they'll be missing their juniors like us (Although I think Arubyel would miss me more!!!!!) and everything would start all over again.

I'm feeling kinda down now. It's 3 more days to SYF. 3 more days and we'll be gone! There's not gonna be Yt, Ys and Chels in the awesome sax section anymore!!! I wonder what's gonna happen.

Wait I go buy crystal ball see the future.

I'm looking forward to SYF, but I'm also dreading it. I would love to remain in band with my juniors, but there will be the new batch taking over us. We old liao.

This entry is posted early, that's why I can't go gaga over the SYF results. But all I can say is, HUAT AH SWISS WINDS !!!!!! Get Gold with Honours and let seniors step down with pride!! GOGOGO !
