My first ever job experience.

GOOD MORNING!

Today's entry will be about my first.ever.job.experience. My friends have been asking me how did I get my job, how's the pay and working hours, and overall how's the job like. So here I am to blog about every detail of my job! :)



Right. As you can see, I'm currently working at Marks & Spencer @ Raffles City. It's located on the 2nd storey next to Robinsons.

How did I get the job... Well I got lucky. Actually I've been to several interviews, like Chomel and Robinsons. But the staff benefits were kinda meh. So I didn't want to take up the job. I was actually feeling pretty dejected at that point of time 'cos I really, sincerly wanted to work during the holidays but then........................

As the search for a suitable job continues... My mom coincidently browsed through the CATS Classified and came across this advertisment by Wisma Agency, for they were looking for sales associates. I didn't know which company were they advertising for at first, but any departmental store works for me, so I called them up anyway.

I went for the interview with them and they assigned me to M&S. So I went for the interview at M&S as well. AT FIRST, I was rejected by them. 'Cos they needed people at Parkway Parade for their atrium sales, which was starting on 6 December. However, I could only start work on 9 December as I was going for a holiday before that. This HR manager, Trina, told me that it was impossible to squeeze me in as they atrium sales will be very packed. But she said that she'll try her best to find me a free vacancy at other outlets. (Which kinda means byebye you're rejected)

BUT THEN at around 7pm at night, TRINA CALLED ME UP TO TELL ME THAT THERE WAS A FREE SPOT AT RAFFLES CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that I can start work on 9 December as well!!!!!!! AND that Raffles City is so much nearer from my house as compared to PP!!!!! *Squeals of joy*

And so, I started working then!!!

Basically the job scope of it all was just to aid customers when they need help, hang clothes, etc etc. But as it approaches festive seasons, things get more heated up and our workload and work speed must x2. My working hours are non-standard, it's like Shift A, Shift B, Shift C. Different shifts got different timings, A-7hours, B-10hours, C-7.25hours. For every 3 days I work, I get one off-day. So it's A-B-C-Off. Quite reasonable la the arrangement given to me by them :)

The people there are generally nice to be with too! Made many new friends, like Andrew, Dina, Darren, Daren, Anabelle, Nadiah, Bella, Wani, Xuan Ling, Shi Kin, Oliver, Jansen, Bharat. All my lovely and hilarious temp staff always available for a chat ♥♥♥
