Arts, Arts, Arts.

I've given serious thought into this issue ever since the release of the GCE O'level results... And that is, whether should I continue junior college with Science stream or perhaps have a change of direction and take the Arts stream.

As perceived from the title of this entry... Yes, I've decided to take the Arts stream.

I know, friends and seniors have been telling me that plunging into Arts when I'm previously a triple science student is a really foolish and well, risky decision. But then, if you would take a look at my results....

English Language - A2
Combined Humanities - A1
Chemistry - B3
Biology - B4
Physics - C5

My sciences are not even at distinction standard. And frankly speaking, my interest level for science is really not there. I'm actually more interested in studying humanities....... (which explains the reason for doing well in it ._.) Furthermore, I can't even take 2 H2 sciences, preferably Chemistry and Biology 'cos my bio got a freaking B4. (I'm guessing this is due to moderation 'cos the paper was pretty simple.)

I talked to quite a number of seniors about my situation, and after explaining to them how I feel about humanities and my grades, they were all pretty convinced that I should take Arts. So at current my ideal subject combination would be:

H1 Econs/China Studies in English
H2 History
H2 Literature
H2 Maths

Which brings me to the topic of schools... Here is my submitted JAE form:

I chose Nanyang JC as my first choice. If asked why.... Well perhaps maybe NYJC made an impact on me; I like the school. When I first stepped into the school, I felt that, "Yes, this is an ideal school, a school for studying." The entire school compound was very bright and spacious, and most importantly, the people there were all pretty warm and fun-loving! (I even participated in some 1-Minute-Challenge game @ the NYband booth LOL). Best of all, NYJC's Arts are not bad as well! The only flaw was that it was a more "cheena" school and thus doesn't offer China Studies in English. Oh well. If I entered NYJC then I'd have to take Econs. Not like I'm not okay with that though. Crossing my fingers that I get in!!!!!!!!!! *All the gods please bless me Amen Amitabha bo bi bo bi*

Another college that I had a rather good impression of was Jurong JC. The facilites of JJC weren't as new as NYJC, but the feeling that the entire school gave me was the same as how I felt about NYJC. Perhaps it was because I had Howard and BJ there to guide me along, but as I walked around I could feel that the people there are all generally nice to be with. That was why I placed JJC as my third choice! (Well if I got into JJC I would take CSE.)

Other colleges didn't really appeal much to me... Like Catholic and Anderson. (I put AJC as second choice 'cos I honestly have no other junior colleges to put in already. AJ's Arts isn't as good as NY's though.) Catholic JC was placed after JJC 'cos of the inaccesibility of the location... Like have to travel into expressway in order reach it. -_- Else I would have chosen CJC as first choice 'cos of it's commendable Arts stream.

Probably the last photo in Swiss's uniform that's gonna appear on my blog..

I'm feeling quite satisfied now. It feels as if I've achieved self-realisation... I now know what I want, what I'm intersted in, and what I'm willing to specialise in. Perhaps after graduating from JC I would take up Media/Advertisement. I wouldn't become a humanities teacher, though. That is totally out of the question ahaha.

Crossing my fingers really tightly - please let me get into NYJC!!!!
