It's been a while since I've been to the birdpark so I was pretty excited about the trip. And also that I'm able to meet the bffs... since the last time we met was like during the collection of Olevel results.
So... Yay!
Welcome to Jurong Bird Park! *excited excited*
I think what I was feeling inside was this. Hehe :P
Jurong Bird Park's actually pretty small. I believe the whole park could be cleared in like 3~4 hours excluding meal and performance time.
First stop, Penguin Coast.
I couldn't get a nice shot inside the exhibition hall, but fret not! I got a not-bad one of the penguins sunbathing!!!!
Got "invited" to take pictures with the parrots... But only allowed to hold the parrots when the picture's taken with JBP's camera -_-
E told me they trying to cheat our money and that's gonna be his future job 'cos he chose tourism for his poly course. LOLJK E's gonna be like at managerial position or something ahahahaha.
Macaw Island, btw.
As we proceeded to the Flamingo Lake, we saw this production team preparing to film and this guy, most probably the host/actor trying to memorise his lines. E was like, "Eh that guy looks familiar! Like from a tv show or something, I've seen him before but I can't remember ): "
I had no impression of the guy at all, so I was like "LOL NO WAY if he's famous I would have recognised him."
E was hesitating whether to take a picture with him, but too shy to ask in case of rejection. Zun and I thus were like, "You want take then you ask la!!!! Idk him so I don't care LOLOLOL"
I soon lost interest and went to take pictures of the flamingoes. Zun was still talking to E about asking him to go approach the guy himself. I glanced over at the guy.... HE WAS SECRETLY SMILING TO HIMSELF LOL.
LIKE DIS
Okay, maybe not, but that's most probably what he's feeling inside. Like, "Woah they're discussing over who I am!!"
But E still managed a shot with him (he's quite cute acutally) and during our last stop at the Pools Ampitheatre, we googled the possible people, and good heavens, E just got a shot with George Young. Host of Million Dollar Drop or something. I don't know 'cos I don't watch Channel 5 except for The Noose LOL.
(I'll upload the picture to CoC once E changes his profile picture. Hehe)
Back to topic...
I remember these pinkies used to be at the entrance of jbp. Things have changed...
E looks better with the dyed hair!
Proceeded to the Southeast Asian Birds avairy{?}.
A shame thatt the peacock's inside its cage... Another one came out but refused to stay still for just one shot!!! ):
Then to Flamingo Lake, Pelican Cove and Swan Lake!
I think the birdpark has lesser mosquitoes than the zoo. I didn't even get a single mosquito bite during my trip there. All inside the birdies' stomaches already. Thank god I didn't go to the zoo~~
Next up, Parrot Paradise!
Have no idea why is the lighting in this particular shot like that....
OHAI!
Had a pretty good time mimicking the parrots' call. And listen to them whistle. AHAHAHAH. Shame that all of them are enclosed in cages; difficult to capture shots leh! 'Cos the camera keep focusing on the cage instead of the bird ):
At the African Waterfall Avairy. Debating on which shot to develop......
Towards the Dinosaur Descendents!
=^^=
Enjoyed the aircon over at Bird Discovery Centre. There was no one there at all, ie. 0 visitors, 0 staff. So we had the whole place to ourselves!
See? Can even set timer take self-shot LOL
Walked all the way back to entrance for lunch at Bongo Burgers.
Mine: Turkey Ham pasta, Zun's: Chicken Sausage pasta, E's: Fish and Chips
I think quite expensive leh. But it's a tourist spot, so what to do? :/
I think E's quite handsome :)
And we're quite pretty. Hehe.
Gossiped for quite a bit at the restaurant. I think we spent like close to 2 hours there. 'Cos everyone was feeling sleepy and groggy after the meal so we just slacked over there waiting for the sleepiness to fade away.
Turned left instead of right and ended up at World of Darkness. This is about the best shot I could get of the owls.
Scarlet Ibs....
... And Shore Birds. Like some scrawny Angry Bird LOL
At the Royal Ramble where the crowned pidgeons were spotted!
E likes Toucans and Hornbills, so he was pretty excited when we arrived here.
It was posing for us! ^^
This toucan/hornbill is real!!!! Though it looks fake but it's real!!!!
Then to my favourite stop, Lory Loft!!!!!!!!
This is the place where you can get close up to the lories! They're all so small and colourful and adorable omg I want one as a pet.
That's obviously not my hand, duh. Some tourist was feeding them (Lory food can be bought @ $3 - increases the chances of taking pretty pictures with/of it!) and thus me being Singaporean took the chance to snap this shot of two lories perching on the railing while the tourist was feeding it!! No money spent! AHAHAH
AWWWWWWWWWWWWW ♥
But can't be helped, they love me so much that one of those two from the above picture flew and perched on the railing beside me!
So Zun snapped this picture of me with it!
Currently my fb profile picture and i'm lovin' it! ♥♥♥ *Litte joys of life - being liked by a birdie!*
Bffs :)
Second last stop, Birds of Prey. E was also quite enthusiastic about these birds.
Bald Eagle posing for us! U DON'T LOOK AS SCARY AS THEY PORTRAY YOU!
Used to believe that eagles were always the bad-bird in animal stories... But this bald eagle here looks like a cartoon character!
Made it in time for the last performance in the Pools Ampitheatre!
One and Only self shot taken for the day. So it's only fair for me to put it up!
And here are shots of the performance!
Flamingoes
Toucan (Awesome flying shot considering the cammie's not a dslr)
Pelicans
Parrots
Flying (YAY another flying shot) parrot. Actually a Scarlet Macaw.
Scarlet Macaw - Beautiful but Vulnerable. Probably the best known of all South American parrots as it is often used in advertisements. Sadly, destruction of its forest habitat, hunting for food and trapping for pet trade threaten its survival in the wild.
Save the environment!!!
The show was not bad. I believe it was because I've not seen birds doing tricks for quite some time. Last time I've been to the bird park was like, 10years ago? So it was pretty entertaining for me.
And best of all, they allowed us to snap shots of the Scarlet Macaws at the end of the show!
Vibrant colours!!!
Whole trip ended about 5plus. Enjoyed myself throughly... Though I really don't know when will our next outing be. Haiiiiiiiiii, please don't forget me guys, especially you Edwin!!!! Zun, I'm hoping really hard that we'll both get into NYJC!!!!
Still lovin' my Lory picture!!!!!! :))
