So anyway on the second day of our Hong Kong trip we went down to Disneyland!!! I was pretty excited for this day coz Disneyland is filled with Mickey plus the Sleeping Beauty Castle and so much more cutesy stuff so it'll be a great place for photo-taking!! Also HK Disneyland now has a new land - Toy Story Land which I've never been before so hurray! Disneyland here we come!!
There are really too many pictures taken in that one day so I'll have to split this entry into two. But that means you readers can enjoy double the fun!!!
We started off the day searching for breakfast... I suggested that we head over to the building directly opposite our hotel and it turned out to be a HK-style wet market.
But surprisingly it's really clean and even though we're at the poultry section the market doesn't stink at all!!
Right beside the wet market is this huge market place. Really convenient for tourists staying at our hotel coz there are so many shops for us to settle our meals + stores selling edible Hong Kong souvenirs + other miscellaneous goods!!
Settled down at this little store for breakfast!
Looking really groggy in the morning..... Look at those beady eyes -_-
I like it how the little food stops in the marketplace are all decorated with the eye-appealing menus on the walls. Like so if you can't find anything that you like on the menu given there are still more choices if you look around.... Literally.
Tadah! Breakfast for the day! I like their oatmeal mix and the Bo Luo Pao most!!! Really satisfying!
OOTD - Top: Forever 21 Girls | Bottom: Forever 21 | Shoes: Jurong Point | Bag: Japan | Scarf: Yew Tee Point
If you're interested my hair accessory and belt are from KL and Cotton On respectively.
Took the MTR to Disneyland!! Ultra convenient - See there's a station dedicated to Disneyland!!
Dad's individual shot of the day.
Here we are inside the special Mickey-themed train onward to Disneyland station!
With the Mickey window.
Look at those Mickey shaped handlebars!! I almost didn't want to leave the train until I've finished snapping pictures of every Mickey shaped item!!
One shot with the deco at the Disneyland station!!! Even the station itself is decorated with Mickey's wizard hat!
AND WE ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!! \^_^/
The weather was brilliant that day - not too chilly yet not too warm plus since it's a weekday there are lesser people!!!
In descending order of height... *sighs*
Immediate photo spot once we stepped into the area outside the park!
We haven't even bought our tickets yet!
Both of them look so happy!!
Spotted this flag post with both Mickey and Minnie on it and since I wanted the picture to be a tad bit special than just standing next to the structure.......... I climbed it.
He copied me and climbed even higher!! My mom is just there to take the picture with him. *laughs*
Finally got our tickets - They're Toy Story themed!!! Too cute!!!
I remember in 2010 Mickey and friends were ambassadors of the Disneyland tickets, so I fought my way through by trading with the mates from Swiss Winds to get one Mickey and one Minnie. (Coz we entered the park twice). Those are the memories!!
Always thought that this is the least good-looking Mickey in the entire park but since it's the park's welcoming symbol I still always snap a shot with it!
Another photo spot found!!! Can you feel the Christmas season and hear the bells ringing already???
Here we are in Main Street USA!
See what I said about not many people being in the park??? Lucky us!
Popped by the various souvenir shops and had fun playing around with the plush toys!
Even tried on their winter accessories!
Also wore the signature Mickey ears around........ In the end we didn't get it coz it was pricey for a headband that can't be worn out anyway :'(
But here's my theory - If you can't get it but you really like it, then snap hell lot of pictures with it as consolation. *laughs*
Walked on and saw the Sleeping Beauty Castle in sight!!
Isn't it gorgeous??? We spent around half an hour here just trying to snap perfect shots!!
Here's me with the castle behind!!! I love love love taking pictures with the castle but honestly speaking I don't know why!
And the family!! The castle + blue sky makes a really good backdrop!!!
One last shot of the castle when there are lesser people around :) Gorgeous right!!!!!
Mum and Winnie the Pooh. She secretly loves them!!! And she always calls Pooh by "Pooh bear bear" LOL.
Inside the teacup ride in Fantasyland!
After the first ride we were just in time for the Golden Mickey Awards!
The show was spectacular!! I admit I teared a little at certain songs, like at Tarzan and Jane, Beauty and the Beast and Mulan. The show is like my childhood summed up in half an hour!!
Donald, Goofy and Pluto!
The Golden couple!!! And the "emcee" was a really good singer. All of them were!!
"You got a friend in me~"
Here's a short snippet that my dad videoed of Beauty and the Beast. It's one of my favourite Disney princess movie!
Basically the show consists of the popular Disney movies and the songs which people remember the movie by!!! Now do you know why I teared????
After that amazing thirty minutes we head down to Tomorrowland!
Flying spaceships, a ride which we took as well.
But more importantly, SPACE MOUNTAIN!!!! Everyone who goes Disneyland must take this roller coaster ride!!
Know why I'm so hyped up about Space Mountain? Coz it was the first ever roller coaster ride that I've ever taken in my entire life!!!!!! I was always afraid of roller coasters so I've never dared to ride any, like the ones in Genting etc. But bcoz of this one (I was actually psycho-ed by the band mates to try it) I fell in love with roller coasters from then on!! And my courage level increased!!
Basically it's a roller coaster that circles around in the dark - I swear you really can't see the route on which the coaster is operating on. It's not like its a stomach-churning kinda ride (C'mon it's Disneyland, rides can't be too overwhelming!!) but coz its the first roller coaster ride that I've taken, I wanna share it with everyone else!! My sister enjoyed it too!! So if every you go to Disneyland, YOU MUST TAKE THE SPACE MOUNTAIN RIDE!!!
Soon after the Space Mountain ride (which we didn't have to wait for long, ~15mins), it was noon and we settled down at Tomorrowland for lunch!
Bcoz we randomly selected some place so we didn't know what was in store for us... Usually in theme parks I'd eat fast food but the food we ate isn't too bad too!!
After lunch we carried on to take more rides in Tomorrowland (three guesses to which land is my favourite!), snap pictures with Mickey and friends and continued our journey to Adventureland! But all of those will be in Disneyland Part 2, so do anticipate it soon~
Stay tuned, and have a Merry Christmas (eve)!
