Whenever Italy comes to mind, we think about pizza, gelato, Venice... And the Leaning Tower of Pisa. On postcards and pictures the tower may not seem much of a big deal, but trust me when I personally saw the real deal, I was genuinely blown away.
The tower was really slanted!!!!! (I was super amazed)
And think about all the cool picture effects that we could pose with the Pisa tower!!! It was really an eye-opener for me and all I did at Pisa was prancing and and fooling about in front of the camera, armed with different poses with the tower as my ready partner. Tourists were all playing about and we just went all out as well. I swear it was totally cool!
After Pisa we continued our trip down to Florence!
We had the opportunity to shop at the Florentine Christmas market. I love these European Christmas markets!!!!!!! The stores were filled with really exotic trinkets, Christmas goodies and live Christmas songs by street buskers. The entire place was literally brimming with Christmas atmosphere!!!
The hotdog was the best I've ever tasted. Best.
Florence is one of the rare cities in Italy which we visited that had plenty of intricate statues of ancient Roman gods, with most of them amazingly still beautifully preserved over the years. Piazza della Signoria is about the most interesting museum I've ever been to - It's a museum that adopted an open-air concept, meaning locals and tourists were all free to roam about and marvel at the statues in the Piazza square.
Being someone who's big on mythical creatures and stories of ancient Roman/Greek gods, I loved the open museum thoroughly!!! Especially when the guide patiently explains the origins and rationale behind each statue! Major wow.
Gelato from Italy is just different from the 'Italian-inspired' ones we have in Singapore. I had my gelato in my favourite Fragola flavour!
And that successfully concludes today's diary on Europe! Kinda feel like having authentic Italian gelato now!
I actually have so much more pictures to share, but it's gonna take hell of a long time to look through if I uploaded them all here. These are the prettiest ones in the camera roll and I hope you guys enjoyed them!
P.S/ Fragola means strawberry!
