Travel Diaries: Venice

I am starting off this travel entry with something that I found extremely interesting on our ride Venice............ A MAXI-SIZED KINDER JOY can you actually believe it????? The toy inside was amazing as well - It consisted of a baby Sylvester on a truck with a rectangular road map, two rows of stickers and a stand for displaying it. I had great fun assembling them on our long route towards Venice. More importantly... Why don't such things exist in Singapore I mean after having a maxi Kinder Joy the original puny-sized one is hardly of a kick anymore!!

I have a bad habit of starting travel entries with non-travel related stuff.

Venice definitely met my expectations of it. It was like a highly-raved movie that everyone yearned to watch and when you finally get to see it yourself, you can't help but agree that yeah, this shit is really awesome! Venice just has this ability to... Intoxicate you. Being a literature kid Venice has always been on my travel list and now that I've finally been there - I feel as if a part of my bucket list has been axed out.

Here is a list of reasons why I fell in love with Venice:
- Tranquility
- Rich culture
- Alley-like streets
- Gondolas
- Watching the sun set while on the gondola
- Rustic infrastructure
- Jesters' masks
- Fat pigeons

I swear the pigeons in Venice are especially fat. In fact they are so fat that they don't even bother flying anymore when I ran through a flock of them in the main square. How does this even work???

(Their Squid ink pasta and local pizza are absolutely de-li-cious)

JUST TAKE A LOOK THEY ARE SO FAT THEY DON'T BOTHER FLYING

That last photo is me at my failed attempt at capturing the fog that I blew out. As we travel north towards Milan the temperature's getting reallllllyyyyy cold so it's practically impossible to even take a stroll without my down jacket.

Winter outfit: Noir.

I absolutely enjoyed the gondola ride - It was accompanied with amazing vocals and I drowned in the Venetian sunset as we rode closer towards the horizon.

Would've brought home a whole luggage of masks if they were actually practical or if I had a million and one masquerade parties to attend. The masks in Venice are so intricately designed (even the cheapest ones are gorgeous) and they're only sold at a fraction of a price as compared to the ones in Singapore. As an alternative I bought a huge pack of magnets back and they make superb souvenirs!

I miss Venice already.

My only question: How do I apply to be a pigeon in Venice?

So much love,
