So either the Italians were either die-hard romantics or they were extremely enterprising to actually build a Juliet house based on the all-time favourite Shakespearean work, Romeo and Juliet.
Shakespeare would've been proud to witness his number one hit tragic play come to live, with numerous couples visiting the place every single day, and the walls of the attraction is literally plastered with love declarations.
I wouldn't have my name there though, after all didn't those star-crossed teenagers in love die eventually without actually materialising their love??? It was a tragic love story and no way am I gonna have an unhappy ending to the passionate love which I'm (always) looking forward to. #Superstitiouslitgirl
Welcome to Verona, guys.
Yup, that's what appreciating art is all about
Our guide was kind enough to let us roam around Verona before heading back to the bus, and en route we had the opportunity to shop at yet another Christmas market!!!! The sun was finally peeking out so thankfully it wasn't too chilly to do some shopping!
I absolutely love this shot it reminds me so much of Disney's UP!!!
(Witnessed a peaceful demonstration on the bus. So this is how one looks like...)
And we arrive at Milan!!!!! Probably the favourite place of all fashionistas. Everyone there dressed impeccably. There was not a single soul in casual winter wear - They all looked amazing. Singapore we really have got some socks to pull!!!
Here we are, every shopper's heaven. Sadly there weren't any commendable scenery to take snapshots of coz this IS the place where tourists start splurging on branded goods. Just a tip, if you're buying Italian brands, like Prada, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo etc, buy them in Italy. It only makes sense that they're less expensive in their origin country. I learnt that the hard way :'(
And another fun fact about brand shopping: In Italy you can actually buy seasonal designs that have not even been launched in other countries at a more affordable price too!!!! That way when you get back home whatever you have is something that can yet be found in stores yet!!
Well if you're not into brands.......... Here's something really cool and I'd bet you'd never ever seen them before.
Literally all sorts of dried fruit!!!!!!!!!!!! See that green thing in the right of the picture?? That's dried avocado (if I remembered correctly) how do they even manage to dry it so perfectly??
It's like even fruit is pretty in Milan.
At least that's a fulfilling end for Italy! Today's entry contains slightly lesser pictures but did you guys realise they're all pretty colourful and vibrant-looking??? I would've pestered my parents to death for a balloon - the biggest one - if I was ten years younger because why the hell not?
Oh by the way, in case you were still shocked by the boob-grabbing shots.... Grabbing the breast of the Giulietta statue represents eternal love and guess who wanted to have the first touch? Yours truly. You're welcome. I would've grabbed it otherwise anyway ;)
Ti amo! (That's love you in Italian and hey look, now you know another phrase in Italian!)
