Bio-Essence Tanaka White / Total Fairness Inside Out

My mother always tells me that having fair skin automatically stands a girl out. That is why many females of today are obsessed with the notion of having fair and even skin tones. For me, I'm thankful  everyday for being blessed with natural fair skin - As my friends would know, I'd only turn red under the sun, but in due time I'll be back to my original skin colour. That, may seem as the perfect skin condition for retaining 'fairness', but sadly the truth is the exact opposite.

Constant exposure to the sun, especially in Singapore's humid climate causes huge damage to our skin. UV rays are probably the most threatening thing our skin would ever face - It causes photoaging, age spots, freckles and uneven skin tone. Best part is, people with fair skin are at a higher risk of suffering from all of the above mentioned!!!

They heard your cries girls, and through much research and innovation, Bio-Essence is proud to introduce its new and improved Tanaka White range which targets specifically at dark spots and uneven skin tones! The new range includes a reinvented 4X Intensive White Serum and a Double Whitening Cream SPF 20

Okay, so the big deal about the 4X Intensive White Serum that the new Tanaka White series has to offer would be the alpha-Arbutin that it contains. What exactly is Arbutin, you may ask. Well, beats me too, until I googled it and found out that Arbutin is a natural skin whitening agent. Extracted from bearberry plants, it helps brighten dull and yellowish skin, eliminates pigmentation and improves skin complexion on the whole. But that's not the best part yet - The 4X Intensive White Serum's alpha-Arbutin is 9 times more powerful as compared to beta-Arbutin, which is typically found in many of the whitening products available in the market. Now that's what we're talking about!

The Tanaka White Double Whitening Day Cream is enriched with SPF 20, Tanaka Extract and Tranexamic Acid to suppress and curb excessive production of melanin and protects our skin from harmful (not to mention extremely evil) UV rays and external pollutants. Furthermore, the cream is non-greasy and highly moisturising, so as to keep our skin hydrated in Singapore's scorching heat. We're all about protection and prevention, so yup, never, ever, ever, ever miss out on sunscreen protection!

Since I'm only at the tender age of nineteen and thankfully not suffering from any dark spots or pigmentation, my lovely mom has kindly volunteered her dark spots (which she has been complaining in vain about for the longest time ever) for us to try out the new Tanaka White series and here are the results:

Left: Before / Right: After

These are the results after using both products for five days. Though not significant, but there are indeed visible changes - The large patch of dark spot has indeed lightened slightly. Mom's pleased with the results, and we're both looking forward to even more significant lightening of dark spots when the products are used in the long term!

How to:
1. Spread sufficient amount of serum evenly over entire face.
2. Apply another layer of serum of areas with dark spots and freckles.
3. Apply twice a day after cleansing.

If you have dark spots/pigmentation, use the serum. If you do not have any serious issues with the stubborn skin conditions, use it too - For even fairer skin tone and prevention of spot formation. Just use it!!! Serum is extremely easy to apply - smooth and non-greasy, and most moisturising too. It gets absorbed into skin quickly and leaves it feeling all nourished and pleasant-smelling!

How to:
1. Smooth cream evenly onto clean face till fully absorbed.
2. Apply daily.

Laced with trace minerals and previous herbal extracts such as ginseng, angelica and gingko, the cream smells lovely and is easy to apply too!!!

Before I leave let me share with you guys a little story about Tanaka. Tanaka (also known as Thanakha) has a rich history in Myanmar. It is actually a whitening secret adored by the Burmese women for more than two thousand years. Wow, talk about keeping a secret. Anyway, Tanaka is used in the daily lives of these females, as well as in various ceremonies where face paintings that comprise of Tanaka symbolises nobility and purity. The Tanaka tree takes at least thirty-five years to yield premium Tanaka. Women in olden Myanmar often had to work under harsh sunlight, this Tanaka became and ideal cosmetic for these women, whom apply thick layers to protect their skin from being scorched while also keeping their skin cool due to natural cooling properties of Tanaka. Being a deep-rooted practice in Myanmar, the act of using Tanaka on faces has braved through the test of time and is now a widely known secret.

Are you impressed or what??? I mean, a busted secret is never cool but hey, at least now all women can have luminous and flawless skin! Shout out to you Burmese girls, you da bomb, seriously.
