Can you guys believe it - School is really starting, for real, in a few hours' time. My eight month long holiday is finally and most sadly coming to an end and starting tomorrow. I'm an official college student!! Here I am, all snuggled in my Hall's lounge trying to figure out the workings of the STARS planner while speed-reading through the electives that I wish to add to my timetable. I am suddenly reminded of how my academic timetable was always planned out for me for the past twelve years of my education life and this whole college do-it-yourself thing really needs some getting used to. As my duly-enjoyed honeymoon comes to a close, and since I haven't exactly covered much on them, maybe now is a good time to do a brief rounding up on the events that took place over the past month.
From left to right:
01. My first college camp - Wee Kim Wee School of Communications and Information Freshman Orientation Camp. Yes for those who've been asking me of what's my next step after AJC, I'm officially enrolled into WKWSCI. I was part of Marionette!! That picture was snapped when we had our mass dance cum flash mob over at Marina Barrage. Had so much fun for the first five days of July - Who's in WKWSCI too hands up!
02. A week after WKWSCI FOC we had our first orientation group outing over at Azzura for Reverb. That was when all the hidden talents start showing... I really ought to start brushing up on my guitar skills ☹
03. Hall 14 FOC took place roughly three weeks after my faculty camp; I was again terrified of socialising (as usual) but my fears were yet again uncalled for - Hall camp was such a blast and I am so proud to be part of Draco!!! We are the winning OG this year and it's foreseeable that Hall life is gonna be made even more exciting with this most sporting bunch of Dracians. We bleed blue!
04. Okay, so during Hall camp we were made to play the renowned Secret Partner/Pal game - In short speed-dating and this was my SP. He's Caleb and he sings well ☺
05. Taken after my second moving-in trip to Hall - I have since made another trip, and the last one was today, where I brought along all my essentials like my Macbook. In total I made four trips from home to hall and back and probably spent most time on selecting which pieces of apparel to bring in to Hall. I really wish I could have my entire wardrobe there though. Moving in sure is hard.
06. First meal at Hall 14's canteen! Really yummy and pocket-friendly good 'ol fish and chips.
07. Finally reunited with my fellow Marios for Wee Ride - An annual night-cycling session organised for the WKW cohort. This took place right after Hall camp ended, and by ended I meant having only slept for two pathetic hours every night the week before so you can guess how lethargic I felt then. Guess the gorgeous skyline of Singapore in the stillness of a weekday night made up for it, though I went back home and delved into comatose state for a grand total of twelve hours.
08. Meet my buddy Jared - I'm so grateful for him he's almost my walking enquiry desk since I was unabashedly confused about literally everything college related. I depend so much on him from having lunch together to discussing about our electives and honestly I wouldn't have survived this far without him.
09. Freshman Welcome Ceremony a couple of days back. Now I'm officially a student of Nanyang Technological University ☺
