Hong Kong Day 1 - Shen Zhen

Hola!! I'm back from my Hong Kong trip and all I can say is.... I enjoyed myself tremendously!!!!!!!! Love their food, especially the HK Milk Tea, Dim Sum and Bo Luo Pao! The weather there was amazing too - slightly colder than expected but still super shiok!!!

Shopping was slightly disappointing though coz majority of the apparel stores are now selling winter clothing, like knitted wear, long sleeved tops, fur, jackets etc so there's really no point buying them back to Singapore since they're really impractical to wear in our humid country. I've flipped through all the apparel racks I spied and even though some of the stores do sell dresses suitable for SG wear, they're priced even higher than the winter clothing... Not really attractive :(

But apart from the shopping (which isn't that bad actually) everything else was awesome!!!

Day of our flight at Changi Airport!!

We traveled by Singapore Airlines :)

I'm not a big fan of airplane food but I like their desserts :)

This is breakfast btw!

And we arrive at Hong Kong airport!!

Both of them sneaky, ask my sis and I go take the brochures then they secretly pose with the HK Tourism Board sign.

This is our hotel room! We stayed at L' Hotel Nina, the same hotel as the one which I stayed at during my trip with Swiss Winds.

Activity space is kinda limited but there's 2 queen sized beds so sleeping space is really quite big!

They have an open shower as well!!

Stayed at the 43rd storey and got the sea view from the room's window!

The one and only mirror shot of the entire trip coz every morning I'd wake up with the -_- face so no point taking mirror shots :(

Our first destination would be Shen Zhen!

Really convenient to get there, just take HK's MTR and pass through 2 customs. Like Singapore and Johor!

By the time all of us were famished so we randomly picked a restaurant near the China customs to have late lunch!

Mummy and Daddy ^.^

Our food :)

They tasted okay. I got skeptical of the meat that was in my Zha Jiang Mian so I stopped eating halfway... Can't blame me for my fear with all those videos and articles on China serving rubberised and plastic food going around right!!

There is only one mega mall at Shen Zhen once you exit the customs and it's the one on the left. The weather was chilly!!

As usual...

The inside of the mall!

This is heaven is faux goods are your poison. They have stores after stores selling counterfeit watches, purses, shoes and electronic products.

Just a note, the exchange rate there is 1SGD : 5RMB, and remember to bargain!!! At least bargain for half the price they give!!

Here's what my dad and sis bought - a thumbdrive and a portable charger.

For 70 RMB (14 SGD) and 90RMB (18 SGD) respectively.

This is what's so special about the thumbdrive... It's a 512 GB thumbdrive. 512GB. Self-manufactured by China, in China.

But it's spoilt already, though my dad checked it on the laptop at the store to make sure it's working. My desktop couldn't read the thumbdrive anymore lol. The portable charger is still working though.

Still, buy electronic products at your own risk!

My buy: Pair of tights! For only 20 RMB (4 SGD)!!

They're super comfy coz the insides are lined with a thin layer of wool, thus when I wore it it's super soft. The material isn't those ultra thin kind but instead it's rather thick!

I should have gotten more pairs in different colours :(

Also, as you approach the upper levels of the mall, there will be this area catered for fabric sales. Like you buy fabric at a cheap price and send have that tailor-made into a suit or something. A whole array of fabric!!!

Successfully cleared all levels of the mall... And this is a scenic picture of Shen Zhen outside of the mall.

Took the MTR back to our hotel.

Honestly speaking, I wouldn't want to go to Shen Zhen again if I ever head down to Hong Kong. Coz the stuff there are mostly counterfeits and I'm not a fan of counterfeits. In fact I don't encourage fake goods at all so I found the mall kinda boring. But if you wanna try your luck at the self-manufactured goods like the 512 GB thumbdrive..... They have tons there. Speakers, phones, iphones, batteries etc.

For apparel wise, the mall do carry faux Fred Perry, Abercrombie and Fitch, Polo Ralph etc so if you're interested you can get those there. For the normal apparels, stores are mostly selling winter clothing due to the season, but if you're there during the other seasons you might be able to find more practical and nice stuff!!!

Okay last picture at the entrance of our hotel! Super convenient coz it's located near the Tsuen Wan West MTR station!

Will share more about Hong Kong Day 2 soon, so do keep a lookout! Thank you for reading!! ^.^
