Word of Mind

Perhaps I never loved enough,
If only I'd love much more;
I would not nearly had so much,
left waiting, for you in store.

If I had given away my heart —
to those who came before;
it would be safer left in parts —
but now you have it all

- My Heart by Lang Leav, Lullabies

- - -

Finally had some time to catch a breather from all my assignments so I decided to catch up on poetry reading. Lang's poems get me all the time, Love & Misadventures was tear-jerking, albeit extremely addictive, and that's why I got Lullabies the moment it was released in Singapore.

Someone once told me, only sad people journal in diaries and cry at poetry.

I teared so badly at some of them, like the one above. Lang's poems has a way of injecting me with this sudden wave of sadness that's just uncontrollable and unstoppable — all I could do is to welcome and embrace it with open arms. And truth to be told, I love it. I haven't cried in a while, and boy, these poems sure serve as a hauntingly beautiful form of catharsis.

Much love,
