All those CNY well wishes reminds me of the times when we 捞鱼生 and everyone has to yell out their well wishes for themselves and for others :)
And I always felt that the waitress/waiter who helped pour all the condiments in the 鱼生 is one lucky chap coz my granny will always give him/her a (relatively generous) red packet as tips. That's not all - She gives one to every waitress/waiter that attends to us!!
Anyhow, this year's CNY has been slightly different for my family - We didn't have a steamboat reunion dinner with either side of the family, and it was a rather quiet New Year as well for we completed all our visiting on the first day of CNY.
Nevertheless the CNY season still remains its position as a gastronomic festival; you guys have no idea how guilty I feel each time I dig into the buffet spreads (I had two this year) plus snack on all those scrumptious CNY goodies. I mean they're only available during the CNY period so why not right??? Too bad that I always feel my weighing scale, mirror, running shoes all glaring at me with already bulging eyes. It's such a sad love-hate relationship each year with all my guilty pleasures :/
As mentioned, I've had two buffets this year as reunion dinner with both sides of the family so here are some of the photos taken, alongside with my visiting trip!! Enjoy!

We had dinner at Buffet Town! The spread of food there was so large I swear even if I had ten stomachs I wouldn't be able to finish all (I even skipped lunch for this). I had a serving of whatever that was being snapped in the collage. Some even double servings!! Of coz that's not all to the restaurant - I believe the spread there is likely to be triple or quadruple the amount of food in my collage.

I never liked eating 鱼生 when I was younger, in fact until secondary three coz I was always very suspicious of what the dish was made up of... With it being all sweet and sour at the same time with unknown strands of green and red being mixed in. But I swear I love it now!!! In fact I start liking the sweet and sour taste (and aftertaste) so now I'm a fan!

Please don't judge us......... But the second reunion meal with my paternal side family was a lunch on the next day at Vienna. I know, back-to-back buffets may sound nauseating to a certain extent, but believe me I survived through it and even enjoyed it!

Everyone should at least give Vienna a try once!!
Ever since I tried Vienna for the first time I feel in love with the food immediately, coz of all their quirky food and food arrangements!!! How often do you get drinks served in test tubes?!?! I've been begging my parents to head down again for another meal for the longest time ever but we never ever had the time... So now that the chance to dine in Vienna has arrived, I WILL WELCOME IT WITH OPEN ARMS.

The test tube drink!!! It's really just ordinary flavoured juice but the concept is still fresh all the same. I remembered Vienna for this.

Following the two reunion meals is the first day of CNY! As mentioned it's the only day which I'm out visiting so apart from looking good on that day I'm in home clothes for the other days :)

My CNY outfit!!! I was trying to sport the retro look coz the tiffany coloured dress reminds me of the '90s at first sight!! It does right! Or is it just me???
Anyhow, I received tons of compliments for it so it was a right choice to go with lace :)
I rarely ever apply makeup but since I took the effort to request for makeup application by my mom....... Might as well make full use of the opportunity to show of a little bit more right! Honestly speaking I'm still in the state where I'm unused to and a little awkward with my made-up face........................
So here we have OOTD x4!!! I suspect everyone made the extra effort to comb their hairs especially well iron their outfits especially crisply, and smile their widest smile.
Coz we all look so radiant here and yes I'm guilty as charged of the above actions
Dined at Swensens for lunch! CNY lunches have always been at Swensens for as long as I could remember.
Has anyone tried their Malted Milkshake??? It's about the creamiest milkshake (and extremely sinful one) that I've ever drank coz of the blended signature Swensens ice cream! And the drink comes with another scoop of ice cream in it! It serves almost as a dessert itself already.
I always order the Strawberry Malted Milkshake whenever I dine at Swensens!!

I honestly really like this collared lace dress. It's in such a unique tiffany shade and it matches my hair colour!!!
Make up of the day done by my Mom...... We're not fans of piling up a gazillion kilogram of cosmetic products on our faces so yup, just foundation, eye liner and lip gloss (forgot to re-apply after lunch lol) works fine for me :)
Over at my granny's place - I complimented her top and she was practically beaming for the entire duration of our visit!

And that pretty much sums up my visiting day! Of course we didn't only visit the places shown but others too - One thing that I was extremely sore about was the fact that I didn't manage to snap a shot with my cousins WHEN I'M AT MY PRETTIEST coz of some last minute change in plans...... In the end we didn't even manage to meet them. It's really a major ugh but oh well :'(

The rest of the days were days when people came to visit us, so I had no chance to dress up and look good and therefore I'm here in casual home clothing.

Since it's kinda an abrupt end to this CNY entry (I'm really just listing whatever that comes to my mind now) I've actually decided to add in something................................ Lame.
Tadah! The four treasures of my CNY goodie stash!
My ultimate favourite of all would be the almond cookies!!! I love pineapple tarts and love letter and the kuih bangkit which literally melts into a sugary mess on my tongue instantly BUT only almond cookies have the "one-is-definitely-not-enough" effect on me. I like the tinge of saltiness in the cookies, accompanied by the sweetness it. Basically I just have this addictive effect caused my the almond cookies!
Did you know that there are 74 calories in just one pineapple tart? 78 calories in one almond cookie? 56 calories per love letter? 23 calories in one piece of kuih bangkit? 400 calories per 100g of bak kwa?
Now you do. And you guys can't run away from the stats! But you can always run them off though ;)
Half of the tin of almond cookies at home was consumed by me. Guilty as charged..... NOT. I cannot compromise on almond cookies coz I only find them on sale during CNY!!!
I know this portion here is really redundant but if you think about it in another perspective, it's actually pretty informative! At least now you guys know what to get for me next CNY! We can never go wrong with more of good stuff ;)
