In fact, as a blogger (furthermore a lifestyle blogger), having a good camera is extremely important to me. Why? That's because not only do I like to include my face in my entries, I also love posting Outfit of The Day pictures and other miscellaneous stuff such as food and scenery. In order to entice others and make full use of that particular moment, I constantly demand for sharp photos with perfect lighting that requires as minimal amount of editing as possible.
Is this kind of first-rate camera even existent???
But then, what about this legendary camera?? What about it allows users to always appear perfect in pictures?
The Nikon 1 J2 camera is not only quick, but it's also clever and creative at the same time!
It's a camera that understands what users want most - for them and their pictures to ALWAYS look good. Let me now bring you through the key features of this amazing camera and how these similarly amazing features WILL allow you to look good and fashionable all the time!
There are various key features of the Nikon 1 J2 to help users to always look fashionable and perfect in pictures. They include:

Do these mechanical terms sound complicated??? They sounded foreign to me at first too, but after analysing the various functions in detail, these terms don't sound as scary as they seem. In fact, they actually sounded pretty cool after close analysis for these are the features that will result in picture perfect shots!!!
I will be dissecting these mechanical terms so read on to find out more!!
The Advanced hybrid AF (Auto-focus) system highlights the intellect of the Nikon 1 J2. Why?
Firstly, the camera is able to automatically select a high-speed AF that is most suitable for moving objects, so that pictures will always turn out sharp and precise!
Take for example, a day at the beach. While everyone's happily frolicking around in the sand, it's difficult for certain cameras to snap sharp and clear candid shots. The Nikon 1 J2 helps solve this problem by selecting an ideal AF system to capture perfect candid shots without you having to constantly pose for the camera!!! And the best part being, your shots will still turn out crystal clear and picture perfect!
Did I mention that this function is also perfect for jump shots?
Secondly, the Nikon 1 J2 is also able to choose a AF system that is appropriate for shooting in places whereby lighting is relatively dimmer, for example in clubs, bars, sunsets or perhaps just the night view of a beautiful place.
It always annoys me to no end that the flash in certain cameras are always too strong and overwhelming which results in my face turning out too overexposed. And because I'm fair, strong flashes in dimly lit environments makes me look ghostly, ghastly and exposes all the flaws on my face - Which is why I never ever liked using flash while snapping pictures!
But I believe my shots will be in good hands (or rather good lens) of the Nikon 1 J2 for the camera will take photos in places with poor lighting with the automatically chosen Contrast-detect AF suitable for that particular environment so that the person will still look their best and not appear too shadowed or overexposed!

The Smart Photo Selector is easily my favourite feature of the Nikon 1 J2 because it solves all the woes that I face when taking outfit shots!
I'm a somewhat perfectionist - I always demand for the "perfect pose" in my outfit shots, and when I feel that a particular pose looks good I'd want to snap an additional picture of the exact same pose as insurance in case the first one turns out blur or whatnot.
But as I pose again, that pose becomes kinda artificial and stiff and it's almost impossible to attain the exact same angle which I'm standing at, which my arm is aiming at, which my face is tilting at.... I end up having to use the first picture (without any other as basis for comparison) and in the worst case scenario - I compromise on that particular pose and just go with the standard arm-on-hip one. Kinda sad right???
However, with this amazing Smart Photo Selector feature inbuilt within the Nikon 1 J2, there is no longer the need to worry about having to take "extra shots" because the camera will capture before and after shots of you before you even press the shutter button, and it even chooses the best shot for you!
By half-pressing the shutter button, the camera will snap 20 continuous images and then sifts out 1 best shot and 4 other reserve shots. It also automatically deletes shots which are blur or out of frame so as to retain space for the best shots.
Basically the Nikon 1 J2 ensures that every single shot in your camera roll is one of quality - sharp, focused and natural!
Special effects on photos are always welcome - We will all get bored of normal pictures one day, won't we? (Isn't that why Instagram was created??) The Creative Mode of the Nikon 1 J2 has 8 different effects that could be applied on the taken picture
They include:
Miniature effect • Selective colour • Soft • Backlighting • Night landscape • Night portrait • Easy panorama
The effects that interest me most are the Selective colour effect and Soft effect!
The Selective colour effect is good when you want a twist in your outfit shots, perhaps to just highlight your outfit itself? Or maybe just the new favourite lipstick colour that you've recently started using? By highlighting a just a particular colour, it gives the photo a minimalistic feel, resulting in it being more interesting to look at!
As for the Soft effect, it's most applicable in shots taken in very serene environments, like in a park or resort. Blurring the right spots of a photo will result in it giving off a gentle and dreamy vibe - You can then show off the characteristic of the place you are at whilst looking good in it!

Nikon 1 J2's Creative mode brings photography (and self photography) up to a whole new level, making the hobby more fun and quirky to engage in!

Another important aspect of a good camera is that it should be easily portable. Would you want to lug around a huge-ass DSLR with its bag slung over your shoulder in every occasion and in every outfit that you wear? I guess not, when you could actually slip the Nikon 1 J2 into pretty clutches that match your outfits because of the camera's frame compact and lightweight frame!

The petite frame of the Nikon 1 J2 is most feasible for occasions such as simple family gatherings or meals/buffets at restaurants whereby you can both engage in interaction and snap pictures without having to go through the motion of constantly taking out and keeping the huge DSLR!
The Nikon 1 J2 comes in a diversity of colours - There is definitely one to suit everyone! For me, my favourite colour is red so it's kinda obvious that I would choose the camera in the wind-red shade!
Do not think that the colour of a camera isn't important - Colours can play a great role in making sure that an individual could look good too!!! Are you thinking about mirror shots as well? These colours also ensure you delight each time you pick up your camera!!
As a bonus, lenses of the camera come in the same colour as the body of the camera for a overall matching appearance! :)
