"Let's go cafe hopping this weekend. It'll be fun!"
We embarked on a cafe-hopping journey and tried exotic food, uhm, you might have also already spotted it - Green and totally yummy looking. Tasted pretty darn good cupcakes. Held a cup of cappuccino while strolling around and discovered that good coffee embodies a kind of bitter that is strangely addictive. Did all of the above while frolicking in earthy tones.
Totally in love with my new loafers, more about that in a separate entry.
That being said, I have this fetish with worded necklaces - The one I wore that day shouts VOLIA! and it's from F21.
Right after the waiter served me the item that I thought looked interesting on the menu, both Ching and I took a minute of silence each amongst ourselves while staring skeptically at the soup... Are you sure? - She finally looked up and asked me - That looks like poison. Hell yeah, I told her, as I dipped my spoon in for the first taste. Guess what? I solemnly swear that the overly green soup was perfectly edible and it tasted pretty good too. It's actually watercress soup with poached hen's egg & truffle oil and trust me, for someone who refuses veggies like a true carnivore, the soup was to my liking and I finished it.
It is definitely not poison or witch soup or whatever you guys thought it was initially
40 Hands was perpetually filled with people all the time, and in the end we decided to give up on the wait (major regret!!!!!!) and instead clutch onto takeaway coffees.
We visited Yong Siak Street, located in a humble corner of Tiong Bahru. The street was pretty short and to be honest we completed the cafe visitations quite quickly, but it was a good first time experience, I must say. Cafe hopping sure is an expensive hobby though the good coffee and cupcakes AND watercress soup kinda made up for it. Before university begins I want to try out activities that I've never tried before - That includes travelling with my homies and I'm considering either Bangkok or Bali. Does anyone know if it's still safe to tour around in Bangkok despite all the protests going on???
With love,
